Description
Myofunctional Treatment Program
SLP Site License for Multi-Users
Janet Bennett, SLP, and creator of the Correct My Tongue Thrust program, is passionate about the need to treat everyone who has a tongue thrust.
This program is now available for SLPs to use with as many clients as possible. In an effort to ensure that everyone is properly trained to treat tongue thrust, this special therapist’s guide has been created so that the SLP can immediately open it and start learning and treating at the same time. Everything is written out for you to successfully treat a tongue thrust.
There are 7 lessons with different myofunctional exercises that you will learn to perform as you go. You will determine the rate at which you progress through the program.
Imagine This
- Your tongue thrust lesson is written out for you. It tells you exactly which exercises to do that week (or longer) and a video shows you exactly how to do them.
- Your initial letter to the parents explaining your course of treatment is written for you.
- You are provided the SECRETS of years of experience with tongue thrust treatment by a licensed Speech Pathologist.
- You can finally help all of those children with a tongue thrust that have been going untreated. The physical problems that occur because of tongue thrust/mouth breathing are tremendous and lives will be changed!
Stay a step ahead of your student and be an effective tongue thrust/myofunctional therapist: Know how to tell if the exercises are being practiced as instructed; Know how to tell if a child’s musculature is weak and needs extra practice; Know how to tell when your client has indeed established a new swallowing habit.
- This treatment is easily taught in groups.
- Spend 20-30 minutes weekly with your group/individual.
- Show them how to do the exercises for the present lesson.
- Print out that lesson and send it home with your student.
- Parents can go online and actually see how to do the exercises correctly. A printed copy may not be needed.
- Exercises must be practiced 2 x daily (15-20 minutes), if possible. Parents don’t always have time to help their child 2 x day. Give them a site address to enter a Speech Pathologists’ office where their child can practice specific weekly exercises. The parent will not be responsible for teaching or practicing with the child. Someone should be present to be sure that the exercises are practiced.
You will learn that tongue thrusting, swallowing correctly, sleeping well and nasal breathing will ALL be treated at the same time with no extra effort on your part. When a child doesn’t sleep well, they can’t focus, may be hyperactive and aggressive and misdiagnosed with ADHD. When these things happen, tongue thrust becomes a huge educational problem.
It is time that SLPs fight to treat tongue thrusters.
