Can the IJustWantTo Correct My Tongue Thrust program REALLY help me stop my snoring?

Saturday, November 19, 2022

I was recently invited to speak at a local “study group” for dentists. They get together once a month to learn new things. They had heard about the IJustWantTo Correct My Tongue Thrust program and wanted me to tell them how it worked, as they all make appliances to help people stop snoring. The night that I met with the group, I was greeted by a dentist who told me that he and his wife had been married for 35 years and he had just had to leave their bedroom the night before because of her snoring. He was devastated!

What great timing for me to walk in with a treatment for snoring. He took the program home that night for his wife. Within two weeks, had just about stopped snoring. He was thrilled – his marriage had been saved!

Well, this dentist just happened to be on the staff at Loma Linda University in California. He called them and said that someone needed to contact me to do medical research for the IJustWantTo Correct My Tongue Thrust program because it worked. I was contacted by a researcher who has a Ph.D. in Speech Pathology. She was interested in doing a pilot study to see if the IJustWantTo Correct My Tongue Thrust program stops snoring. We would use the person who snores and their sleep mate, with both a treatment and control group. How exciting!

We are in the process of conducting this study right now. I talk with the participants weekly, as it is a 7-week program of different tongue exercises. Tonight, I spoke with a lady who was starting Lesson 6. Since beginning the treatment, her restless legs syndrome has disappeared. Her legs used to jump a lot just when watching TV but now they weren’t moving! Her nighttime cough had disappeared. She said she used to literally choke while coughing in her sleep. She said she is now waking up feeling refreshed instead of tired. She used to wake herself up by her snoring but she hasn’t done that lately. Her husband used to “nudge” her all night long, but he hasn’t done that either.

She said that when she asked her husband if she was still snoring, he was reluctant to say “No!” He said he hadn’t heard her snore and he was certainly sleeping all night, as was she, but he didn’t feel like he could say she wasn’t snoring.? How could tongue exercises make all of that noise go away so easily?

Something tells me that this is going to be a very interesting ride. Will I be able to find enough people who will accept the fact that the IJustWantTo Correct My Tongue Thrust program actually should be credited with stopping their sleep mate from snoring?

If anyone has any suggestions, I am listening. I am not discouraged. It is very exciting. I know something great that the entire world needs to know about – I just hope I don’t have to tell them one at a time…
